Ducati has introduced the latest additions to its adventure touring lineup, the Multistrada V2 and V2 S, at the Ducati World Première 2025 (DWP 2025) during the Intermot motorcycle trade show in Cologne, Germany.
Following the successful launch of the Panigale V2 and Streetfighter V2, these new models expand Ducati’s growing range of motorcycles powered by the innovative 890cc V2 engine.
A Lighter and More Capable Multistrada
Weighing in at just 199kg (dry weight) for the Multistrada V2 and 202kg for the V2 S, the 2025 models are the lightest in their segment. This significant weight reduction, 18kg less than the previous generation, enhances handling, fuel efficiency, and overall riding pleasure. The reduction is partly due to the non-desmo 890cc V2 engine, which itself weighs only 54.9kg.
The 90º V-Twin engine with IVT (Variable Valve Timing) delivers 115hp and 92Nm of torque, with an impressively wide torque range. Notably, 70% of maximum torque is available at just 3,500rpm, ensuring robust performance at both low and high speeds. The shorter first and second gears further optimize acceleration and low-speed control, making it well-suited for both touring and off-road adventures.
Redesigned Chassis and Improved Comfort
The 2025 Multistrada V2 features a newly engineered chassis, subframe, and swingarm, enhancing both aesthetics and functionality. The new adjustable wind visor—developed through advanced aerodynamic studies—offers increased wind protection, while integrated deflectors channel fresh air toward the rider for improved thermal comfort.
Ergonomics have been prioritized, with a redesigned saddle that provides more legroom and passenger space. Riders can choose between adjustable saddle heights of 850mm or 830mm, with additional options for 870mm or 810mm. The DSS (Ducati Skyhook Suspension) on the V2 S further lowers the saddle to 790mm, ensuring accessibility for riders of varying heights.
The braking system is handled by Brembo, with dual 320mm rotors and four-piston Monoblock calipers at the front, complemented by a single 265mm rotor and a floating two-piston caliper at the rear.
Advanced Electronics and Riding Modes
Ducati has also equipped the new Multistrada V2 models with an extensive electronics package, managed through a revamped handlebar control system and a 5-inch TFT colour dashboard. Riders can choose between five Riding Modes (Sport, Touring, Urban, Enduro, and Wet), each fine-tuned for specific terrains and conditions.
The integrated Ducati Traction Control (DTC), Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC), Engine Brake Control (EBC), and cornering ABS systems ensure optimal safety and performance. Additionally, the three new Infomodes (Road, Road Pro, and Rally) allow riders to customize their dashboard display for real-time data tailored to their journey.
Additional Features
Standard features include Cruise Control, a USB charging port, and the Ducati Brake Light EVO, which activates emergency flashing during sudden braking. The V2 S variant also offers the Ducati Multimedia System with an optional Turn-by-Turn Navigator. Another thoughtful addition is the Coming Home function, which keeps the low beams active after the ignition is turned off to illuminate the path ahead.
Colours and Availability
The Multistrada V2 will be available in Ducati Red, while the V2 S adds the option of Storm Green. Riders can also opt for a Travel Trim, which includes heated grips, side cases, and a centre stand for enhanced touring capabilities.
Ducati’s new Multistrada V2 models will hit dealerships globally in January 2025, ready to set a new benchmark in the adventure touring segment.
