Bagnaia skillfully took the lead from Jorge Martin on lap five, as his rival went wide, before fending off Marc Marquez in a tight battle until Marquez’s crash left Bagnaia to a comfortable solo finish. Ducati Lenovo teammate Enea Bastianini had a tougher race, recovering from an early setback to finish 14th after a crash in the first half.

Bagnaia’s win narrows Martin’s championship lead to 17 points with just two races left, keeping the title race alive. Bastianini, now fourth overall, has been ruled out of the title contention.

The weekend marked an unprecedented moment for Ducati as all eight Ducati riders claimed the top-eight positions in the Sprint race—a first in MotoGP history and a testament to Ducati’s 2024 dominance across teams like Ducati Lenovo, Pramac Racing, Gresini Racing, and VR46 Racing.

The Thai GP also served as a capstone for Ducati’s Constructors’ Championship title and the 2024 Team World Championship win for Ducati Lenovo. Fans worldwide celebrated Ducati’s dominance, with Ducati’s top-eight achievements now hailed as an unforgettable era for the Italian manufacturer.

Reflecting on the race, Bagnaia credited his team’s skill in adapting the bike’s braking behaviour, which was critical in challenging Martin. He also added that, The battle with Marc (Márquez was really good and before his crash, we were really lapping at an incredible pace. I’d like to dedicate this win to the team, because as usual they have done a fantastic job.”

Meanwhile, Bastianini noted that, despite early race setbacks, he regained confidence before his crash. “It’s a pity, I didn’t expect that to happen. Luckily, I was able to re-join and score a couple of points,” he said.

Ducati Corse GM Luigi Dall’Igna praised the riders’ precision under tough conditions, emphasizing the stakes as Ducati riders continue their neck-and-neck title pursuit.

“It was a challenging race. It’s easy to make a mistake in these conditions: you must give it all in order to win but be careful at the same time, because a mistake is always around the corner. I must congratulate Pecco and Jorge for today’s incredible performance,” he added.

“It is now officially a two-way battle for the title, on equal terms. Our goal is to give them all the information so that they can get the set-up out of their bikes and may the best win. We’ll have to suffer until the end, but I’m sure they’ll deliver plenty of more excitement to us as well as to all the Ducatisti.”

The Ducati Lenovo Team heads next to Malaysia’s Sepang International Circuit for the season’s penultimate round, promising more heartbeat races as the title race narrows.
