Around 40 bikers took to the roads on August 31st, revving up both their engines and their patriotic spirit during the ‘iMotorbike Merdeka Ride’ in celebration of Malaysia’s 67th National Independence Day.
The convoy, organized by iMotorbike, embarked on a scenic journey to Kuala Selangor, with key stops along the way, including the Muzium Sejarah Kuala Selangor, before returning to the city.
The ride brought together a diverse group of biking enthusiasts, including members of Selektive.my, marshalls from SOS Fastlane, iMotorbike staff, and a majority of participants from the public.
Brian Gomez, iMotorbike Head of Operations
The event kicked off in the early morning at the iMotorbike showroom in Glenmarie, where iMotorbike’s Head of Operations, Brian Gomez, officially flagged off the convoy, setting the wheels in motion for the memorable day ahead.
The first stop for the riders was a refuelling break at Shell NKVE, and participants were welcomed with souvenir gifts from iMotorbike, adding an extra touch of excitement to the ride. Energized and ready to go, the convoy then made its way to Warung Ketupat Kak Yan for a delicious breakfast, offering a chance to refuel both themselves and their bikes before continuing the journey.
The highlight of the trip was a visit to the Muzium Sejarah Daerah Kuala Selangor, where the convoy took a break from riding to immerse themselves in a bit of history as part of the National Day celebrations. The museum stop added a thoughtful touch to the ride, reminding everyone of the country’s rich past and the significance of celebrating independence.
After the museum visit, the convoy proceeded to Dataran Malawati Kuala Selangor for a photo session and a closing address by the iMotorbike staff. The bikers then parted ways, heading back to their respective destinations with a sense of camaraderie and pride from the day’s experience.
The ride not only provided a smooth and enjoyable journey but also marked iMotorbike’s first-ever riding event, which was a great success. With such a positive reception, iMotorbike announced that more rides and events are in the pipeline, promising an exciting future for the local biking community.
