As Malaysia’s 67th Independence Day approaches, two young riders, Hakim Danish and Qabil Irfan, are determined to honour the spirit of “Jiwa Merdeka” in their upcoming races. Competing in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup and the Spanish Superbike Championship (ESBK), both riders aim to showcase their skills on the international stage.
Hakim Danish’s Redemption Quest at Motorland Aragon
Hakim Danish heads into the weekend with a clear mission: to redeem himself after a disappointing previous round. The Aragon Circuit is 5.344 km long and features a challenging layout. Its 1.211 km straight provides plenty of overtaking opportunities using the slipstream technique—a critical skill for MotoGP hopefuls.
Hakim has been training rigorously under Coach Sergio Mora from Rider Formation. His preparation has focused on ensuring peak fitness and mental readiness. Reflecting on the upcoming race, Hakim stated, “This weekend, I’m hoping to do my best and improve on my results from Round 5 since I wasn’t happy with how the last race went.”
Qabil Irfan’s Determination to Dominate in Estoril
Qabil Irfan, already a strong contender in the ESBK, is ready for the 5th round at the Estoril Circuit in Portugal. He’s no stranger to this track, having secured podium finishes in both races during the 3rd round. Qabil’s familiarity with the circuit and his current form promise an exciting and competitive race this weekend.
He has been sharpening his skills in Spain, training alongside Valentine Perrone and other elite riders. “My goal this time is to push myself and compete with the front group to get on the podium and achieve a good result. I’d appreciate it if everyone in Malaysia could keep me in their prayers for success,” Qabil shared.
Celebrating Jiwa Merdeka on the International Stage
As Malaysia celebrates its independence, the performances of Hakim Danish and Qabil Irfan reflect the nation’s growing motorsport presence. Their dedication, resilience, and commitment to excellence embody the spirit of “Jiwa Merdeka.” This spirit represents freedom, pride, and a relentless drive to succeed.
This weekend, all eyes will be on these two young riders as they carry the hopes of a nation. Backed by their coaches, teams, and supporters, Hakim and Qabil are ready to make Malaysia proud. They aim to turn the spirit of “Jiwa Merdeka” into reality through their pursuit of victory.
