Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman are gearing up for another thrilling motorcycle journey. Apple TV+ is continuing its commitment to the beloved Long Way series. After the success of Long Way Up in 2020, fans are eager for more. The new season promises an exciting adventure closer to home.

The journey begins in Scotland, McGregor’s homeland, and ends at Boorman’s doorstep in England. But this is no straightforward ride. The duo will cover 10,000 miles across Europe, making the journey anything but ordinary.

Produced by Long Way Round Ltd, the series features McGregor and Boorman riding vintage, refurbished motorcycles. They will start in Scotland, then cross the North Sea to Scandinavia. Their route takes them as far north as the Arctic Circle. From there, they will head south through the Baltics and Central Europe. The adventure wraps up with a final stretch across the English Channel.

McGregor reflected on the origins of this trip, saying:

“On a tricky, sandy bit of Long Way Up, Charley and I daydreamed about another trip. This is that trip. Rusty old bikes, 10,000 miles, Scandinavia, and Eastern and Central Europe. A big loop from Scotland to Charley’s house in England. Long way home… magic.”

Tracing the Journey of the ‘Long Way’ Series

This season marks the fourth instalment of the Long Way series. It all began nearly two decades ago with Long Way Round in 2004. That journey took McGregor and Boorman from London to New York. Long Way Down followed in 2007, with the duo travelling from Scotland to South Africa.

After a hiatus, the franchise returned with Long Way Up. This time, McGregor and Boorman rode electric motorcycles from Argentina to Los Angeles. Fans were thrilled to see the duo back on the road together.

With this new season, fans can expect more of the adventure, camaraderie, and challenges that define the Long Way series. McGregor and Boorman’s journey will surely capture the hearts of viewers once again.
