Boon Siew Honda has introduced the new CRF1100L Africa Twin Adventure Sports ES in Malaysia. This model targets long-distance tourers and adventure enthusiasts, offering a blend of comfort and performance.

The Africa Twin Adventure Sports ES costs RM 119,388 in Malaysia. The price excludes road tax, insurance, and registration. Included is a two-year or 20,000km manufacturing warranty, whichever comes first.

The bike features a 1,084-cc, liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine. It produces 102 hp at 7,500 rpm and 112 Nm at 5,500 rpm. Compared to its predecessor, torque has increased by 7%.

The six-speed Dual Clutch Transmission offers a natural clutch feel on take-off and between the first and second gears. It provides three modes: Manual Transmission (MT), Automatic D Mode, and Automatic S Mode. The DCT includes a G switch for improved traction and optimized gear shifts.

The Africa Twin includes Throttle-By-Wire (TBW) management and a six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU).

This system promises enhanced rider control with four power levels and three levels of engine braking. Honda Selectable Torque Control manages rear tyre slides with seven intervention levels, significant for off-road riding. This feature can be disabled if you prefer full manual control.

The IMU enhances Wheelie Control by adjusting engine torque via TBW based on pitch angle and rate. The three selectable inputs are Level 1, which permits intentional wheel lifts and smooths sudden movements; Level 3, which prevents front wheel lift; and Level 2, which balances the two. You can deactivate this feature if not needed.

There are four default riding modes: Tour, Urban, Gravel, and Off-road. Additionally, there are two customizable USER settings. The bike features the Showa Electronically Equipped Ride Adjustment suspension system. An advanced system automatically adjusts damping force based on riding conditions. It includes four pre-set modes: Mid, Hard, Soft, and Off-road, plus a customizable User mode.

Braking is handled by twin 310 mm diameter brake discs with four-piston callipers at the front and a single disc with a single-piston calliper at the rear.

The bike also has two selectable ABS modes: On-Road Mode for improved braking stability on paved surfaces and Off-Road Mode for better control and performance on rough terrains.

The revamped Africa Twin boasts a rugged and aerodynamically enhanced design with an extended front fairing. It features a 5-level adjustable screen, full LED lighting, a 6.5 TFT-LCD full-colour cluster with seamless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, hands-free wireless Bluetooth connectivity, a USB charging socket, cornering lights, 19-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels, and an 18.8-litre fuel capacity.

Interested individuals can check out the new Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin Adventure Sports ES at their preferred Boon Siew Honda BigWing dealership. This motorcycle promises to elevate the adventure touring experience with its advanced features and robust design.
