Boon Siew Honda has introduced the all-new Honda CBR250RR to the Malaysian market. This model boasts a cutting-edge design, a more powerful 250cc twin-cylinder engine, and advanced features. The latest model promises to be even more desirable for motorcycle enthusiasts.

Price Tag

The 2024 Honda CBR250RR is priced at RM 27,999, excluding road tax, insurance, and registration. This price includes a two-year or 20,000km manufacturing warranty, whichever comes first.

Aggressive and Sleek: The New Design

The new CBR250RR follows the ‘aggressive speedy shape’ concept with sharp edges and a forward-leaning posture. It has a compact body structure. Optimized cowl geometries and advanced aerodynamics reduce air resistance by 6% compared to its predecessor. The bike features an all-LED lighting system with a hazard lamp and LED rear combination light. An LCD instrument cluster provides all necessary driving information.

Dimensions and Specifications at a Glance

The CBR250RR measures 2,061 mm in length, 724 mm in width, and 1,114 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 1,385 mm and a ground clearance of 148 mm. The seat height is 780 mm, and the fuel tank capacity is 14.5 litres. The bike weighs 189 kg. It features 17-inch wheels with 110/70 front and 140/70 rear tyres.

Power Unleashed: The 250cc Twin-Cylinder Engine

The CBR250RR is powered by a re-tuned 250cc, eight-valve, liquid-cooled, DOHC, parallel twin-cylinder engine. It delivers a maximum output of 31 kW at 13,000 rpm and 25 Nm of torque at 11,000 rpm. The engine has an increased compression ratio, optimized piston and oil ring tension, a larger inlet port throat diameter, and upgraded valve timing and lift. These enhancements improve power and performance. The bike includes an Assist and Slipper clutch, Quick Shifter, and Throttle-By-Wire system with three riding modes: Sport+, Sport, and Comfort.

Smooth Ride: Advanced Suspension and Braking Systems

The bike features a Separate Function Fork – Big Piston (SFF-BP) inverted front suspension. This advanced system includes an upside-down Showa suspension with 130 mm strokes and an adjusted spring rate for stability and agility. The rear suspension is a mono-shock with preload adjustments. The bike has single hydraulic discs on both ends, complemented by a two-channel ABS for reliable performance on various road surfaces.

“With the new CBR250RR, we aim to provide an unmatched riding experience that combines power, precision, and style,” said Mitsuharu Funase, Managing Director and CEO of Boon Siew Honda. “It is a testament to Honda’s commitment to innovation and excellence in the supersport motorcycle segment. We are confident that the enhancements in performance and design will captivate motorcycling enthusiasts across the Malaysian market.”
