Yuzy Racing Team Aiming for Redemption in 2024

Yuzy Racing Team Aiming for Redemption in 2024

The Yuzy Racing Team is gearing up to end their dry spell in the racing circuit, determined to clinch victory after two seasons without a title.

The team has been left scratching their heads, both athletes and staff alike, by their recent lack of success.

Their last taste of glory came through Azroy Hakeem Anuar back in 2021. Now, as the 2024 Cub Prix Championship kicks off this March, the team is hoping for a triumphant return. Azroy, alongside his fellow teammates Shahrol Syazras Shahrol Yuzy and newcomer Ahmad Darwisy Ahmad Sahir, is ready to take on the challenge.

“We have a new addition to the team. Azroy and Shazras remain for the 2024 season, and we introduce a 16-year-old newcomer, Darwisy, for CP150. We believe that the combination of these three riders will lead to greater success in the 2024 season,” said the team principal, Shahrol Yuzy Ahmad Zaini.

“Darwisy raced in the CP125 class last year and also in the Asia Talent Cup (ATC), so I think he’s mature enough to move up to CP150. At the same time, we maintain our concept of rider development by promoting him from CP125 to CP150. He has experience in local Cub Prix races and the MSBK (Malaysian Superbike Championship), so he’s qualified for CP150,” added Shahrol Yuzy Ahmad Zaini.

In the 2023 campaign, Azroy finished third overall with 144 points, trailing behind the PETRONAS Sprinta Yamaha-CKJ Racing duo of Ahmad Afif Amran and reigning champion Md Akid Aziz.

“In essence, our mission this time is greater. We always aim for the championship, but unforeseen circumstances beyond our control slightly hampered Azroy’s chances last year,” said the two-wheeled motorsport legend.

“Nevertheless, we accept and appreciate everything that comes our way, and we will continue to strive,” he added.

The new 2024 season, comprising 10 race rounds, is set to kick off on March 2nd in Jasin Bestari, Melaka. With determination and a renewed sense of purpose, the Yuzy Racing Team is ready to rev their engines and chase down victory once again.
