The team opened its garage doors to a select group of media representatives, providing them with an exclusive opportunity to interact with the riders and get up close with the 2024 Yamaha YZR-M1 bikes.

The unveiling showcased the familiar color scheme of the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP YZR-M1, along with some notable changes including new sponsors and updates on the personnel and organizational front. Fan favorite Fabio Quartararo, determined to make 2024 his year, remains a key figure in the team. Joining him is the new teammate Álex Rins, bringing in fresh technical expertise and riding prowess.

Not only has the rider lineup seen a change, but Yamaha’s management has also undergone significant adjustments for the 2024 season. Takahiro Sumi, the General Manager of the Motor Sports Development Division of Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd., will now be closely collaborating with new Yamaha YZR-M1 Project Leader Kazuhiro Masuda and Yamaha Factory Racing Technical Director Massimo Bartolini.

Despite these changes, familiar faces such as Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team Principal & Yamaha Motor Racing Managing Director Lin Jarvis and Team Director Massimo Meregalli remain at the helm. Additionally, the Yamaha Factory Racing MotoGP Test Team, led by Kazutoshi Seki, will feature rider Cal Crutchlow in the upcoming season.

The renewed structure within Yamaha indicates a strong commitment to success in the MotoGP arena. This commitment is bolstered by the continued support of Monster Energy Company, the team’s title sponsor, with whom Yamaha shares a long-standing global alliance. The iconic Monster claw branding remains a prominent feature on the team’s uniforms and bikes, reflecting the enduring partnership between Yamaha and Monster Energy.

Both Quartararo and Rins expressed their enthusiasm for the upcoming MotoGP tests and the start of the season in Qatar. With the MotoGP calendar projected to feature 21 GP rounds and 42 races, the anticipation for the season ahead is palpable.

As the team gears up for the challenges ahead, they extend their gratitude to their loyal Official Sponsors and Partners, while also welcoming India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd. (IYM) as a new addition to their esteemed list of collaborators.

Looking ahead, Yamaha’s Motor Sports Development Division remains dedicated to bringing success to the team and its fans. With a relentless focus on improvement and a commitment to competition, Yamaha is poised to make waves in the 2024 MotoGP season.
