In the high-stakes MotoGP world, Yamaha is in trouble as its star, Fabio Quartararo, issues a stern warning, pushing the team to up their game.
2023 has been Yamaha’s worst year yet, with Quartararo stuck at 10th place in the standings.
The 2025 season brings added pressure with many rider contracts expiring. Quartararo, who made a splash with Petronas SRT in 2019 and won the championship with Yamaha in 2021, has struggled since, finishing 2022 as the runner-up and a lackluster 10th in 2023, with only three podiums.
“As a rider, Yamaha gave me a chance in MotoGP. I won a title for them, and our bond is strong,” Quartararo says. “But as a competitor, I want to win with Yamaha. We’ve faced highs and lows, and I’m determined to get back on top.”
Despite challenges, Quartararo wants to revive Yamaha’s winning spirit. “We’ve been at the top and hit rock bottom. I want to climb back up. But time is short, especially for me to believe this is a winning project.”
In a direct statement, Quartararo says, “If I feel we lack a winning plan and I have to move on, I will.”
As 2025 brings changes to MotoGP, Yamaha is at a crossroads. Keeping Quartararo and proving Yamaha is a winning project are the challenges. Time is ticking, and Yamaha faces its highest stakes yet.
