In MotoGP 2023, KTM impressed, making Manager Francesco Guidotti proud. He now outlines ambitious plans for 2024.
From the get-go at Portimao, KTM wowed with a fantastic performance, setting the stage for a season of remarkable progress. While they missed grabbing a grand prix win, Brad Binder’s side of the team shone brightly.
Guidotti happily said, “We kicked off in Portimao with a smile.” He highlighted the steady improvement throughout the season, boasting numerous podiums and two sprint race victories. Binder nearly clinched a final-race win before a gut-wrenching crash, a fate that also befell teammate Jack Miller.
Talking about Miller, Guidotti said, “Jack is Jack.” The Aussie rider, new to KTM after five years with Ducati, surpassed expectations. “He surprised me because handling a new bike after five years on a different one is no easy feat,” Guidotti noted.
Despite the challenges of a 20-race season, Miller’s persistent drive and adaptability were impressive. “We love him. His vibe on this new challenge was amazing. He’s quick, and this season taught him a lot,” Guidotti added, underlining Miller’s positive impact.
Guidotti stressed KTM’s overall progress, noting their bikes were consistently faster than the previous year. “The level is up, and we’re in the game. Maybe we’ve bounced back more than others,” he confidently stated.
Looking ahead to 2024, Guidotti has high hopes, building on 2023’s success. KTM’s commitment to improvement and the stellar performances of riders like Binder and Miller hint at a bright future in the fiercely competitive MotoGP arena. As they prep for the challenges ahead, keep your eyes on KTM in the upcoming season.
