The vibrant city of Liverpool, England, played host to the glittering spectacle of the FIM Awards in 2023. It was a day to remember as the stars of two wheels descended upon the iconic locale. This unique celebration brought together champions from various disciplines. It certainly created an unforgettable evening that highlighted their remarkable successes throughout the year. Not only did the riders revel in their achievements, but they also dazzled onlookers with their impeccable style.

Headlining the ceremony was the 2023 FIM MotoGP™ World Champion, Francesco Bagnaia of the Ducati Lenovo Team. Securing his second premier class title, Bagnaia graced the stage once again to receive his well-deserved historical FIM medal.

In joining the elite ranks of Marc Marquez and Valentino Rossi, Bagnaia became only the third rider in the MotoGP™ era to defend the coveted crown successfully.

Joining the spotlight were champions like Pedro Acosta, the 2023 FIM Moto2™ World Champion from Red Bull KTM Ajo. Testing a MotoGP™ bike ahead of his debut in the premier class next year, Acosta infused the festivities with anticipation. Jaume Masia of Leopard Racing, the 2023 FIM Moto3™ World Champion, also took the stage, highlighting his exceptional talent after an incredible season.

The evening also honoured Mattia Casadei from the HP Pons Los40 team. He made history as the first-ever FIM Enel MotoE™ World Champion in the inaugural year of the electric series championship. Casadei’s presence on the red carpet underscored the growing significance of electric-powered racing in the world of motorcycling.

Adding further prestige to the event were the likes of 2023 MOTUL FIM Superbike World Champion Alvaro Bautista. Joining him also was 2023 Finetwork FIM JuniorGP™ Champion Angel Piqueras.

Piqueras, in particular, stands on the cusp of a promising future as he prepares to transition into the Moto3™ World Championship in the upcoming season.

As the FIM Awards Gala brought the curtain down on the 2023 season in grand style, it marked the beginning of a winter break before the wheels of competition would turn once more. The Shakedown and Sepang Tests loom on the horizon, heralding the countdown to the 2024 season.

Motorcycle racing enthusiasts are urged to stay tuned and anticipate a thrilling celebration throughout the year. 2024 commemorates 75 years of Grand Prix motorcycle racing. The FIM Awards not only recognized the champions of today but also set the stage for an exciting future in the world of two-wheeled excellence.
