In Round Nine at the Tangkak Circuit, all eyes are on Md Adam Haikal, eager to shine in the CP125 category.
Adam, from Johor, impressed in the Wira KBS race category last season, winning the championship with 10 podium finishes, including one victory, and 193 points overall.
But this season presents new challenges as he’s a rookie in the CP125 category. Although he managed one podium finish this season, he’s currently fifth overall with 67 points.
Adam explains, ‘My main challenge this season is finding the right setup for my machine. I work with the team to match the setup with the circuit and my riding style. I’m up against experienced riders, making it a tough contest.’
He notes the key differences between Wira KBS and CP125, saying, ‘In CP125, it’s about quick thinking and action. I need to improve my corner entry and exit speed.
Being new has its advantages as I can learn from experienced riders, but I need to work on my braking compared to others. I’m working on fitness and riding to improve.’
Reflecting on his experience at the Medini circuit, he says, ‘Riding in the hot weather helped me understand my machine better and try new riding styles. I’m intensifying my training for better braking and improving my fitness.’
Adam’s goal this season is clear: ‘I want to secure a top-five position and, if possible, stand on the podium again. I’ll keep working hard to achieve it.’
As Round Nine unfolds at the Tangkak Circuit, fans are eager to see Adam’s pursuit of the podium. With determination and a quest for excellence, Md Adam Haikal aims to shine in the CP125 category.”
