Engine and Power

The Versys-X 250 boasts a potent 249cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine. The engine delivers an impressive 33.5 horsepower at 10,500 rpm and 21.7 Nm of torque at 10,000 rpm. These figures confirm the Versys-X 250’s suitability for both city commuting and light adventure touring.

Features and Styling

Modenas enhances the Versys-X 250 with appealing features: crash guard, high windscreen, handguards, and standard LED fog lights. The bike is available in two striking color options: Metallic Flat Spark Black and Candy Lime Green. Moreover, it comes with a spacious 17-liter pannier on both the left and right sides, enhancing its touring capabilities.

Transmission and Fuel Tank

This adventure-tourer comes with a six-speed manual transmission that includes a clutch assist and slipper function to reduce clutch effort. Notably, the Versys-X 250 boasts a generous 17-liter fuel tank, providing extended riding range compared to some of its competitors.

Wheels and Suspension

The bike sports 19-inch front and 17-inch rear spoked wheels with 100/90 and 130/80 tires. Braking is handled by single hydraulic discs at both the front and rear, utilizing dual-piston calipers. It’s important to note that ABS is not included.

Suspension-wise, the Versys-X 250 is equipped with non-adjustable telescopic forks at the front, offering 130 mm of travel. At the rear, there’s a preload-adjustable monoshock with 148 mm of travel. At 181 kg, it offers a comfy ride with 180 mm ground clearance and an 815 mm seat height.

Competition and Pricing

In Malaysia, the 2023 Modenas Kawasaki Versys-X 250 faces competition, including the RM24,000 KTM Adventure 250 and other sub-RM20,000 rivals.

Please note that the RM24,900 pricing for the Versys-X 250 does not include road tax, insurance, or registration fees.

The Versys-X 250’s impressive specs and competitive price position it as a top choice for adventure-touring enthusiasts in Malaysia.
