iMotorbike World Sdn Bhd has made its mark as one of the fastest and easiest online sale and purchase platforms for secondhand bikes, giving each bike a second chance for a new home. It takes only less than 30 minutes to sell your bike with us at iMotorbike.
Recently giving the platform a go is the Yayasan Kajian dan Pembangunan Masyarakat (YKPM).
YKPM took the chance to sell a brand-new Vespa Primavera to us in which the proceeds were made to the Orang Asli Development Programme. According to YKPM, the Vespa Primavera was originally a donation from someone who had won the bike in a contest.
YKPM, also known as the Foundation for Community Studies and Development (FOCUSED), is a registered non-profit organisation that came to life on 22 September 1993. The foundation focuses on empowering left-behind communities, both rural and urban, by working alongside them. At the centre of their programmes now is the Orang Asli community, or Indigenous people.
In conjunction with Malaysia’s 66th Independence Day today, it’s all about giving back to society as much as possible. This year’s theme for the celebrations is “Malaysia Madani: Determination in Unity, Fulfilling Hope”. This Independence Day, or Hari Merdeka, rallies Malaysians to unite to achieve their aspirations for a more successful Malaysia.
Despite the rich cultural heritage of the Orang Asli, it is undeniable that these communities often face numerous challenges. They face obstacles in various aspects including but not limited to healthcare, education and basic amenities.
In order to improve their lives, donations to Orang Asli communities have emerged as a powerful tool for positive change.
YKPM offers various projects working in partnership with the Orang Asli, with their current major project being OA Organik. The project focuses on providing capital training and support to the community to aid them in eco-farming to produce high-quality natural-grown produce.
Contributions to YKPM are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law in Malaysia.
Through the generosity of donations, individuals and organizations have become catalysts for change. A small gesture can help these communities overcome adversities and strive for a better tomorrow.
