Suzuki Malaysia previously revealed its plans to introduce the Suzuki V-Strom 250SX to the Malaysian market. After several test sessions and spy shots in the country recently, the manufacturer finally disclosed the model.

We understand that Suzuki has been testing two types of V-Strom 250, namely the V-Strom 250 and the V-Strom 250SX. The former houses a parallel-twin engine and round lamps.

According to the latest reports, Suzuki will be marketing the V-Strom 250SX in the local market soon with its launch likely to take place this year.

For the record, the V-Strom 250 SX features a single-cylinder 250cc oil-cooled, SOCH 4-valve F1 engine. It is capable of producing 26hp at 9,300rpm and 22.2Nm at 7,300rpm. Engine power is sent to the rear tires through a 6-speed transmission.

This Suzuki V-Strom 250SX is also available now in the neighbouring country of Indonesia. The price of the bike there is IDR59.5 million or equivalent to RM17.9k.

In the meantime, Suzuki Malaysia will also enter the 250cc sportsbike segment with the GSX-250R which will compete with the Yamaha YZF-R25, Honda CBR250RR and Kawasaki Ninja 250.

We have seen glimpses of the model at Suzuki Malaysia’s compound before, in addition to local distributors also being present for product training of the model.

The Suzuki GSX-250R comes with a 248cc SOHC two-cylinder engine with liquid cooling capable of producing 24.7hp at 8,000rpm and 23.3Nm at 6,500rpm.

Suzuki Malaysia is definitely ready to stimulate the local motorcycle market with its diverse production line this year.
