Petronas through Petronas Lubricants International continues to make strides in the two-wheeled motoring arena when it announced itself as the main sponsor of the Energica Tytlers Cycle Racing team in the MotoAmerica Super Hooligan championship.

Energica is currently the only electric motorcycle manufacturer competing in the MotoAmerica Super Hooligan. The others are ICE (internal combustion engine) machines. For the 2023 season, Energica together with Tytlers Cycles Racing is betting Columbia rider Stefano Mesa’s Eva Ribelle RS machine

As the main sponsor, Tytlers Cycles Racing machines will be in action this weekend wearing the iconic colours of Petronas.

The Managing Director and CEO of Petronas Lubricants International Group, Hezlinn Idriss described this collaboration as opening up opportunities for Petronas in developing fluid technology for EV machinery.

Petronas - MotoAmerica

“Petronas Lubricants International is always exploring ways to support the development of the EV industry including the motoring arena. This collaboration will open up more opportunities for us in developing fluids for various EV segments. This would include trucks, light commercial vehicles, passenger cars and motorcycles.

“This is proof of our ability to find solutions to the use of fluids in electric powertrains,” he explained.

For the record, Energica Tytlers Cycle Racing competed in Roland Sand Design’s Super Hooligan National Championship at MotoAmerica. Interestingly, this team is the only representative of electric machinery in the championship.

Petronas will be handing out the latest generation fluid specially created for electric vehicles through Petronas Iona.
