MV Agusta is going places by making its mark in various sectors of the two-wheeler world. Its latest prototype is a product of a partnership with the Taiwanese brand Kymco.
The Italian brand stole the spotlight a while ago when it confirmed its close collaboration with Austrian motorcycle manufacturer KTM.
KTM through its parent company, Pierer Mobility, has bought 25.1 per cent of MV Agusta’s shares
The development sees KTM helping to expand MV Agusta’s dealer network in Europe and the North American market.
Prior to that, MV Agusta had also entered into a collaboration with QJMotor. The two worked together on the development of the ADV motorcycle, the Lucky Explorer 5.5 which uses the Benelli TRK502 engine.
Now, MV Agusta is keen on dabbling in the electric motorcycle market by collaborating with Taiwanese scooter manufacturer, Kymco.
During the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan, MV Agusta and Kymco introduced Ampelio, a prototype electric scooter.
Despite being only a prototype, the development of the electric scooter has already been done for the past two years. This gives an indication that MV Agusta is serious about entering the market.
Based on the Kymco S7 scooter, the Mv Agusta Ampelio offers 9.7hp powered by two 1.7kWh batteries that can be charged at home.
