For the first time ever, MODENAS received a five-star MyMAP rating from the Road Safety Research Institute (MIROS). The ratings were for the MODENAS Ninja 250 ABS and Z250 ABS motorcycles.

The reason for the rating was that the two models successfully achieved the safety standards set by MIROS. This includes the installation of the ABS system, assist/slipper clutch function and a lightweight chassis.

MyMAP officially gave the rating as soon as the completion of the evaluation and audit process last October.

“We at MODENAS are very proud of the recognition that has been awarded to both Modenas Ninja 250 and Modenas Z250 ABS version models,” says Chief Executive Officer of MODENAS, Roslan Roskan.

“These two models are the first motorcycles to receive MyMAP’s 5-star rating for the Naked Bike and Sports Bike segment targeting 250cc.

“With that, we sincerely hope that buyers will be more careful in making decisions when buying a motorcycle and will pay more attention to the safety technology offered on each of their motorcycles,” he explained.

For the record, MODENAS Ninja 250 ABS and Z250 ABS are among the rebranded models from Kawasaki. The manufacturer then fully assembled the models at the MODENAS factory in Gurun, Kedah.

Both MODENAS Ninja 250 ABS and Z250 ABS feature a 249cc DOHC ‘parallel-twin’ platform, with liquid cooling. It is capable of generating 36hp at 12,500rpm and 23Nm at 10,000rpm.

These two models are available at a price of RM20,500 and RM19,500 respectively.
