A week after the global launch of the Yamaha XMAX Tech Max in the European market, PT Yamaha Indonesia also launched the maxi scooter for the Indonesian market on the opening day of the Indonesia Motor Show (IMOS) 2022, on Wednesday.

Shown with the same specifications as the European model – except for the engine displacement which remains 250cc in Indonesia – the Yamaha XMAX 250 2023 (known as XMAX 250 Connected in Indonesia) is also upgraded with a 4.2-inch TFT screen display that offers Garmin navigation functions and can be connected to a smart device.

The 2023 Yamaha XMAX 250 also comes with a new front panel that is highlighted by the arrangement of lights and an ‘X’ shaped front nose. The ‘X’ shape is also shown when the rear lights are turned on.

Yamaha also updated the side panels to better protect the rider on the road while the wind deflectors are now adjustable. The new Yamaha XMAX is also equipped with full LED lighting including the turn signals.

Among other features offered include the Smart Key system (keyless ignition) and the Answer Back system which helps facilitate the search for motorcycles.

However, sources have claimed that only one variant is available in Indonesia and it does not include the XMAX Tech Max variant as is available in Europe.

The Tech Max variant comes with additional features such as ‘heated grip’, ‘heated seat’ and aluminium footrest panel.

Meanwhile, the Yamaha XMAX 250 2023 is still powered by a 250cc Blue Core engine that offers 22.5hp and 24.3Nm.

Yamaha XMAX 250 2023 comes with four colour options in Indonesia; Dark Petrol, Luxury Red, Premium Black and Prestige Gray and sold at a price of IDR66 million (RM19.9k).

For the record, the Yamaha XMAX 250 (2022) which is currently marketed in Malaysia is sold at a price of RM22,298. We expect a price increase due to the upgraded functions on this 2023 model.
