To meet the demand for versatile small-capacity motorcycles, Thai motorcycle brand Solar Moto has unveiled its Groove Cross 125 in the market.

Solar Moto will be exhibiting the model at the Thailand International Motor Expo, which will be taking place from December 1 to 12. The Groove Cross 125 will be the brand’s newest introduction to the Thailand market.

Interestingly, this Groove Cross 125 seems to draw inspiration from the Honda Cub 110 model. However, it comes with more rugged features like the Cub 125 Trail. For the record, Solar Groove Cross 125 is a rugged variant developed by Solar Groove.

As a result, this Groove Cross 125 comes with a high mudguard that is matched with a telescopic front fork and double rear shock absorbers. The ground clearance of 177mm ensures that the bike is suitable for riding in various conditions.

However, other features remain conventional to ensure the motorcycle remains affordable. This includes the front and rear drum brakes, analogue meter panel, halogen lights and carburettor system.

In addition, some practical features are also available on the bike, such as its removable pillion seat. Riders can then use the seat can as a storage space for additional items.

The Solar Groove Cross 125 features a single-cylinder 123.7cc SOHC 2-valve engine with air cooling. It is capable of generating 8hp at 8,000rpm and 8.8Nm at 6,000rpm.

According to Solar, this Groove Cross 125 can reach a maximum speed of around 90km/h. The bike has a 3.5-litre tank and weighs 83kg.

No information is available yet regarding the price of the Groove Cross 125 but we can expect Solar Moto to make an announcement during the official launch at the Thai Motor Expo.
