KTM AG officially owns the majority of MV Agusta’s shares thus confirming the rumours floating around before regarding the same.
MV Agusta in an official statement has confirmed that KTM AG now holds 25.1 per cent of the Italian company’s shares.
The announcement was made a few weeks after KTM made a surprise announcement that it would distribute MV Agusta motorcycles in North America.
“In November 2022, KTM AG owned 25.1 per cent of the shares of MV Agusta Motor S.p.A,” explained MV Agusta in a statement.
The collaboration also means that MV Agusta will also market KTM motorcycles in several countries. This latest news is definitely a big development for both companies in expanding their products to a larger market.
At the same time, this news also gives an indication that MV Agusta wants to reestablish its position as a premium Italian brand. It will also be giving competition to more well-known brands such as Ducati and Aprilia.
For the record, MV Agusta has also established a partnership with Chinese motorcycle manufacturer, QJ Motor who will market the MV Agusta Lucky Explorer 5.5 in the Asian and European regions.
The ADV-type motorcycle features the same parallel-twin engine found on the Benelli TRK 501 but with a larger ‘bore and stroke’.
