Yamaha’s popular maxi-scooter, the Yamaha XMAX has been upgraded with new design and technology for 2023.

Introduced in 2006, the Yamaha XMAX and TMAX emerged as the best-selling maxi scooters in the world with over 720,000 units sold in 16 years. For 2023, Yamaha has given the XMAX the upgrades it needs to continue to dominate the global maxi scooter market.

Coming in two variants at 125cc and 300cc for the European market, the Yamaha XMAX 2023 features a new front panel highlighted by an arrangement of lights and an ‘X’-shaped front nose. The ‘X’ shape is shown when the rear lights are turned on.

Yamaha also updated the side panels to better protect the rider on the road while the wind deflectors are now adjustable.

Yamaha XMAX Tech Max 2023

This Yamaha XMAX 2023 comes with Standard and Tech Max variants in Europe with the second variant coming with a 4.2-inch TFT screen display that offers Garmin navigation functions – the same as found on the TMAX Tech Max.

The Tech Max variant is equipped with leather seats and aluminium footrests. Meanwhile, keyless entry and traction control functions come as standard for both variants.

The Yamaha XMAX Tech Max 300 is still powered by a 292cc SOHC 4-stroke 4-valve engine with liquid cooling that offers 27.6hp at 7,250rpm and 29Nm at 5,750rpm.

For the Malaysian market, only the XMAX 250 is marketed for now. However, we can expect the same upgrade in the future here while retaining the 250c engine.
