While many anticipated the arrival of the Ninja ZX-4R, Kawasaki Indonesia surprised everyone by introducing the new generation of the Ninja ZX-25R.
Interestingly, Kawasaki introduced the ZX-25RR as its latest ‘flagship’ variant of the 250cc 4-cylinder model for 2023.
For the record, Kawasaki Indonesia introduced three variants in total, including Ninja ZX-25R (Standard), Ninja ZX-25R ABS SE and Ninja ZX-25RR.
However, many have shifted their focus to the top variant, the ZX-25RR this time. It features a brand new TFT screen replacing the analog and digital display on the previous model.
The addition of the TFT screen also saw the Ninja ZX-25RR offer a ‘lap timer’ function like the one found on the ZX-10R. The TFT screen can also be connected to a smartphone through the Kawasaki Rideology application.
In addition, the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25RR also comes with a Showa Separate Function Fork-Big Piston 37mm front fork and an adjustable BFRC rear monoshock which is also inspired from the ZX-10R. However, the feature is not available on the Standard and ABS SE variants which are still equipped with the same suspension system as the previous model.
All three variants have also been upgraded with LED type signal lights.
The ‘quickshifter’ feature is also retained for the ABS SE variant and is now carried on the ZX-25RR variant. However, the function is not available on the Standard variant.
Not only that, the exhaust system has also been improved and now reaches the Euro 4 standard.
Nevertheless, the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25RR is still powered by a 249.8cc four cylinder DOHC 16-valve engine with liquid cooling capable of producing 51hp at 15,500rpm and 22.9Nm at 14,500rpm.
According to Kawasaki Indonesia, the Standard version is available in black only while the ABS SE variant comes in two colors, Candy Persimmon Red and Metallic Matt Graphite Steel Grey.
Meanwhile, the top variant, the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25RR comes in a Lime Green color that offers the Kawasaki Racing Team (KRT) livery.
Since Kawasaki Malaysia through its new distributor, MODENAS, announced that the ZX-25R will enter the national market in 2023, we hope that the model will also include this latest ZX-25RR variant.
