Kawasaki has upgraded two of its 650cc models, Ninja 650 and Z650 with the ‘traction control’ function for 2023.
Both models now come with three levels of Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC) that can be adjusted as needed.
In mode 1, the system will measure the tire rotation rate to increase the level of grip when entering and to exit corners. Meanwhile, mode 2 can be activated if riding on slippery surfaces – wet, sandy and rocky roads. Mode 2 will ensure the ‘traction control’ acts faster to balance the motorcycle.
For those who want a challenge and tough riding primarily on the circuit, users can also deactivate KTRC at once. Users can access KTRC functions through the included colour TFT screen display.
However, both models remain powered by a 649cc parallel-twin engine that offers 67.3hp at 8,000rpm and 65.7Nm at 6,500rpm. A steel trellis frame is also maintained and matched with a 41mm telescopic fork at the front and a ‘back-link’ type shock absorber at the back.
Will this 2023 model also be introduced for the local market through the new distributor MODENAS? We are just waiting for the official announcement later.
