According to sources, Honda will be introducing four brand new models starting with the Honda Hornet 750.

However, the engine of this Honda Hornet will not be the 745cc parallel-twin platform that currently powers the X-ADV 750, Forza 750 and NC750X but instead is an all-new 755cc engine.

The 755cc parallel-twin engine with 8-valve Unicam offers 92hp at 9,500rpm and 75Nm at 7,250rpm. Interestingly, Honda also started making strides like other manufacturers by applying a 270-degree crankshaft system.

So it’s no wonder why this 755cc parallel-twin engine offers double the power of the existing 745cc parallel-twin which produces 58hp and 69Nm.

Although it is only a 10cc difference, it clearly proves that this brand-new engine is capable of producing a more powerful motorcycle.

Honda’s Deputy Director of Main Projects, Fuyuki Hosokawa explained in a statement that Honda developed the latest engine because he wanted to inject something special into the Hornet model.

“To achieve light performance and handling, we knew we needed to produce an engine with a short stroke with a 270-degree crankshaft.

“This engine not only produces high power but also ‘sporty’ low torque, suitable for use in urban areas and on highways,” he explained.

Honda is expected to reveal the Hornet at the latest at the ECIMA 2022 exhibition in Milan this November. Honda may also inject the same engine into three other new models including the Transalp 750, Hawk 75 and CBR750RR.
