EP Manufacturing has received approval from Malaysia’s road transport department for the licensing and registering of the company’s first-ever two-wheeled electric vehicle.

Automotive components manufacturer, EP Manufacturing Bhd (EPMB) has received approval from the Road Transport Department (JPJ) to register and license the electric scooter, Blueshark SG3000DT.
It is understood that the EPMB received the approval a month after the government approved the installation of the electric scooter.
According to EPMB, the National Committee for Vehicle Type Approval and Homologation (VTA) has given approval for the Blueshark SG300DT (Blueshark R1) model at the end of August.
The approval means that the Blueshark R1 electric scooter will be enter Malaysia soon.
The Blueshark R1 electric scooter features two portable 1440Wh lithium-ion batteries that can be exchanged for a fully charged battery at the battery exchange station.
The battery can also be charged at home and offers a range of up to 160km at a speed of 25km/h.
In addition, the Blueshark R1 also features an engine start system that uses fingerprints. There are 75 sensors on the motorcycle including cameras on the front and back that work like a car’s dashcam.
