Yamaha R15M to be launched soon?

HLYM has just recently teased a new motorcycle on his Facebook page and many speculate that this may be the YZF-R15M.

Hong Leong Yamaha Motor (HLYM) just uploaded a new ‘teaser’ on the official social media site a few days ago.

Although the 23-second ‘teaser’ did not reveal any shadow of the motorcycle but based on the slogan ‘Yamaha MSeries’ in addition to the clip showing the scenario on the road and circuit then based on the clue it almost certainly refers to a suitable motorcycle to ride in both scenarios.

Undoubtedly the clues shared may also refer to the Yamaha YZF-R1M but if looking at the history of HLYM before, the model was not brought in for the local market.

So based on that factor, then it is relevant that the ‘teaser’ refers to the Yamaha YZF-R15M.

What’s more, the 155cc ‘sports bike’ model has already been marketed in India around September 2021 and then in the neighbouring country, Indonesia in December of the same year.

Based on the models launched in India and Indonesia, the interesting features of the R15M will certainly focus on the ‘traction control’ and ‘quickshifter’ functions that will complement the existing ABS system.

In addition, the R15M is still powered by a 155cc SOCH engine with VA that offers 18hp at 10,000rpm and 14.2Nm at 7,500rpm.
