The Benelli brand is now in the limelight again since the acquisition of the Chinese giant Qianjiang.
Under the new management, Benelli’s headquarters and research and development (R&D) department located in Italy has continued its development of several new models with the assistance of manufacturing and assembly divisions in China.
The collaboration of these two parts succeeded in producing more Italian motorcycles at lower and affordable prices. Among the models offered, the ‘adventure’ motorcycle, TRK 502 has garnered the most attention.
Since its introduction in 2018, the TRK 502 has become the most popular model and managed to emerge as the best-selling model in Italy in 2020. The record was later broken in 2021 when 6,543 units were successfully sold.
Heading into 2023, Benelli will once again take a bigger step by launching a larger variant of the TRK, known as the TRK 702.
The matter was revealed through the latest patent filed in China by the parent company, Qianjiang.
The patent reveals a clear image of the TRK 702. It is evident that the patent offers a brand new design compared to the TRK 502.
According to documents filed, the TRK 702 will be powered by a 693cc parallel-twin engine with fluid cooling similar to the CFMoto 700CL-X platform.
Capable of producing 75hp and 70Nm, the Benelli TRK 702 is expected to provide stiff competition to the mid-range ADV segment.
