According to Triumph Motorcycles Malaysia, two variants of the Tiger 1200 are offered in Malaysia through the Tiger 1200 GT Pro and Rally Explorer and are priced at RM115,900 and RM130,000.
At the heart of the development of the Tiger 1200 is an engine with a new ‘T-Plane crank’ previously introduced on the Tiger 900 variant.
‘Crank T-Plane’ allows the engine to produce more efficient and energetic ‘rev’ at low and high rpm.
The 1160cc engine now produces 147hp at 9,000rpm and 130Nm at 7,000rpm – up 8.5hp and 8Nm over the previous generation.
For 2022, the Tiger 1200 now comes with a Rally Explorer variant that comes with a 30L tank and offers additional electronic features including a ‘blind spot’ detection system.
The Tiger 1200 GT Pro comes with electronic semi-active Showa suspension in addition to 19-inch front and 18-inch rear tires while the Rally and Rally Pro come with 21 ″ front and 18 ″ rear tires with tubeless wire-spoke rims.
Interestingly, Triumph Motorcycles Malaysia also introduced a special ‘early bird’ promo which saw customers who made a purchase of the latest Tiger 1200 will also receive aluminium ‘panniers’.
