Since its global launch in September last year, the Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RR has indeed stolen the show with its unique design and style.

Interestingly, less than six months after its introduction, the ‘supersport’ style motorcycle has already landed in Malaysia through Fast Bike Sdn Bhd.

According to Fast Bike in a statement today, the Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RR has now arrived in Malaysia and is offered at a price of RM119,900.

Built with the Triple Speed 1200 RS platform, this new model offers features far different from the existing model lineup.

The most eye-catching component is the use of a semi-active type suspension, the electronically adjustable Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 replaces the NIX30 inverted fork and TTX36 monoshock found on the Speed Triple RS.

As a machine with a more aggressive sports bike-style design, the Speed Triple 1200 RR also comes with a ‘clip-on’ type handlebar that is 5 inches lower and 2 inches more forward than the RS.

Triumph also reworked the seat ergonomics to offer a more aggressive ride. The design aspect also steals the spotlight, especially the front panel which now houses a single round-shaped LED headlight as opposed to the two-light setting typically adopted on other Triumph models.

The fairing also looks interesting with a retro-classic style approach but is quite fierce at the same time making this Speed Triple RR a different sports bike from the others.

However, the new model still retains the 1,160cc DOHC three-cylinder engine with the same liquid cooling found on the Speed Triple RS and the result offers 177hp at 10,750rpm and 125Nm at 9,000rpm.

The 6-speed transmission is also matched with the help of an assist clutch and slipper that help channel power more smoothly to withstand aggressive input from the rider.

Among the other features that are also retained from the RS are the Brembo MCS lever and the Brembo Stylema calliper which are matched with 320mm front and 220mm rear brake discs.

Customers who make early bookings until March 31 will enjoy a 2-year service package.
