Honda Hawk revived with 1100 cc parallel-twin engine?

The Hawk was an iconic name in the 1970s via the CB 400T platform.

The Universal Japanese Motorcycle (UJM) range like the Honda CB is among one of the most iconic models in motorcycle history. In fact, the first generation CB750 Four model was very popular, earning a place in the Japanese Automotive Hall of Fame.

Honda is still producing classic models like the CB400 and CB1300 Super Four exclusively in Japan. In contrast to the foreign market, Honda only imports Neo Sports Cafe type motorcycles such as the CB650R and CB1000R for its fans.

In 2021, Honda introduced the NT1100 tourer built using the platform of its popular touring model, the Africa Twin. Like the Africa Twin, the NT1100 also uses a ‘semi-double-cradle steel’ frame and ‘bolt-on aluminium’ subframe in addition to having the same engine, 1,084 cc Parallel Twin, Liquid Cooled, SOHC, 8 Valve.

On the factor of slightly strict modern-day emission standards, most manufacturers turned away from the high-capacity engine that resulted in the production of the CB1100RS Final Edition.

Having been used in three different models, the 1,084cc engine looks set to match the new model, the Hawk.

Rumours say Honda is about to revive its iconic name-Hawk, which was popular in the 70s via the CB 400T platform.

Japanese automotive media, ‘Young Machine’ has published an article with illustrations that are considered to be the Hawk 11 model. It also speculates that this motorcycle will be exhibited at the Osaka Motorcycle Show and Tokyo Motorcycle Show in March.

If the Hawk looks as expected, we’ll probably see a neo-retro ‘cafe racer’ machine complete with a factory-made ‘clip-on bar’ and ‘half fairing’.
