Aprilia has already launched its inaugural ADV scooter via the SR GT 200 in Japan, a few months after it was unveiled to the public at EICMA, in November last year. Despite coming up with two variants, the 125 and 200, only the larger models were introduced in the country of the rising sun.

Despite being a scooter, the Aprilia still retains the same design DNA as other high-powered models, especially in the headlights that feature a tri-LED feature with DRL (daytime running light) function.

However, the interesting design focuses on the whole body that features ADV elements (such as the Honda ADV 150) including high windshields and aggressive design.

The Aprilia SR GT 200 is also equipped with a wide ‘handlebar’ and ample footrests to ensure the ride remains comfortable for daily use. This 200cc maxi-scooter is also equipped with a digital LCD display and an automatic engine start/stop system to ensure better fuel economy when stopping.

Among other interesting features include a 9L tank, telescopic fork 33mm Showa and Showa twin shock absorbers. It also comes with 260mm front and 220mm rear brake discs.

The Aprilia SR GT 200 is powered by a 174cc single-cylinder engine that generates 17.32hp at 8,500rpm and 16.5Nm at 7,000rpm.

For the Japanese market, there are two variants offered, Standard and Sport which are distinguished only by the choice of colours and graphics.

The Aprilia SR GT 200 is priced at JPY550,000 (RM20,009).
