New generation Yamaha YZF-R15M launched in Indonesia

A few months after the Yamaha YZF-R15M was launched in India, Yamaha has introduced the new generation R15 to the Indonesian market.

For 2021, the R15 (V4) comes with a brand new design. The model continues the greatness of the YZF-R7 that has been introduced globally before.

Meanwhile, for the Indonesian market, there are three variants offered. The variants are the R15 Connected, R15M Connected ABS and R15M Connected ABS 60th anniversary edition.

All three variants are equipped with a 155cc single-cylinder engine with SOHC VVA liquid cooling. It is capable of producing 19hp at 10,000rpm and 14.7Nm at 8,500rpm.

Interestingly, this R15 variant also comes with Quickshifter, Traction Control, ‘killswitch’ and dual-channel ABS functions.

In addition, the R15 Connected and R15M Connected also offer the Yamaha Y-Connect feature that allows a digital display to be connected to a smartphone.

The R15 also comes with USD type front fork, aluminium swingarm as well as emergency lights. It features 100/80-17 front tires and 140/70-17 rear tires too.

The launch of the new R15M model to some extent gives the impression that this model will also arrive in the Malaysian market soon.

Looking at the specifications offered, this R15M is definitely one of the most awaited models by the Yamaha fans here.
