IntactGP signs Jeremy Alcoba and renews with Marcel Schrötter for Moto2 in 2022

Jeremy Alcoba is the new IntactGP rider for the upcoming Moto2 World Championship season. Confirmation came this Friday, as well as the renewal of Marcel Schrötter.

Alcoba, who has completed two full seasons in the Moto3 World Championship, will step up to Moto2 at the age of 19. He is taking Tony Arbolino’s IntactGP place who is going to Marc VDS. Schrötter, who is 28 years old, belongs to the veterans of the intermediate class; where he competes worldwide full-time since the second half of 2012. After passing through the SAG Team, Tech3, and AGR, he has joined the Intact GP since 2017. As for Alcoba, the manager said: ‘ We are particularly happy to have managed to win Jeremy for our team. I already noticed him in his debut season in the Moto3 World Championship in 2020. Jeremy is a hope. He won the Junior World Championship in 2019 and is currently completing his second successful season in Moto3. In his rookie year, he reached the first podium and this shows the potential that exists in him. It should also be borne in mind that his size and weight are currently another impediments for him in the small class; while they can be beneficial in Moto2. I know him as a calm, balanced person, and I think that suits our team perfectly.’ Finally, Lingg underlined his confidence in the chosen rider line-up: ‘ The whole team has a lot of hope for our two riders. On the one hand, we have an experienced rider with whom our rookie can learn a lot and quickly adapt to Moto2. At the same time, we expect Jeremy and Marcel to ask for the same. Of course, we’ll give our newcomer time to find his way into the new category. In any case, I am very happy that we were able to fulfill our concept in this way and that they both chose our team ‘.
