The rider admitted the wrong choice of tires for the race: ‘I had a bad decision when choosing the medium tire for the front. It was my decision and I have already apologized to the team. I saw some drops [of rain] on the grid and the temperature dropping a little bit and I thought ‘Okay, why not?! I go with the «K» tire but then I started to overheat the front tire a lot and it was hotter than the rear one and it was something very strange.’ Then he explained: ‘I was just trying to do my best at that time. The bike wasn’t turning, it wasn’t braking and it was very difficult to manage that situation. Then the rain started to come for the last seven laps or so and at that point, I tried to push it. It wasn’t easy and I made a lot of mistakes at that stage, as did many of the riders at the front. It wasn’t an easy race for us but we managed something with the rain and that was the positive part.’ The balance was, even so, positive: – It was another solid weekend and we have to be proud and happy of what we have done over these two weekends and we have to keep pushing in this way at Silverstone.
