Starting from pole position, Danny Buchan (Synetiq BMW) maintained his lead all the way to Paddock Hill Bend, with Tarran Mackenzie (McAMS Yamaha) and Christian Iddon (VisionTrack Ducati) close behind. He didn’t hold back when it came to attacking, and he even managed to pass Mackenzie on the first lap.
While Mackenzie was running late, O’Halloran was catching up and took second on lap four with an inside overdrive at Paddock Hill Bend. He repeated a pass a lap later, but this time on his way to Stirlings, and thus took the lead.
After being passed by Idon on lap six, Buchan came under pressure from other competitors, and Tommy Bridewell (Oxford Products Racing/Ducati) took his place midway through the race. The latter then pursued O’Halloran and even got close enough to pass him.
However, O’Halloran, did not relent and ended up winning by 2.188 seconds. Mackenzie was able to reclaim a podium spot as the race winner overtook Iddon and Buchan late in the race to win that match. With three points over Iddon, O’Halloran leads the BSB going into the final race of the weekend.
