Honda to Launch NX200 Adventure Bike?

Honda to Launch NX200 Adventure Bike?

Honda might be rolling out a Honda Hornet based Honda NX200 adventure bike. Here are the details!

Honda has just filed a trademark for the name ,”NX200″, which suggests the arrival of a small capacity “NX” dual sport bike. Sources speculate the small capacity Honda NX200 adventure bike to be based on the Honda Hornet 2.0 and the model is expected to be launched in India first before rolling into other markets.

Speaking of the bike, the incoming Honda NX200 is expected to be powered by the same 184.4cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine found on the Hornet 2.0. Mated to a 5-speed gearbox, the NX200 is expected to push around 17.26ps of peak power and 16.1 Nm of peak torque.

In the case of the suspension, the NX200 would likely come with a long-travel suspension set up, sculpted adventure style seats and a tall handlebar. Besides this, the model is expected to roll in with features such as full LED lighting, adjustable windscreen, single-channel ABS and LCD instrument panel. Sources speculate the NX200 to come with wire-spoke wheels and a 2-channel ABS option as well.

Looking at the trend, it’s obvious the interest in small capacity dual purpose/ adventure motorcycles continues to grow in Asia. Infact in the past few years we have seen multiple motorcycle manufacturers from both east and west stepping up to develop small capcity adventure bikes to fullfil consumer demand. The idea of Honda using an already exisiting platform to create a new small capacity adventure motorcycle does sound like a good deal. For now, we can’t say much about the bike or the exact launch details. However, juding from the latest filed trademark we think the Honda NX200 would most likely be launched by 2022. Well, only time will tell.
