Prices of 150cc & under CKD motorcycles to drop in Malaysia starting April 1st with the 100% tax excise duty exemption?

Locally assembled motorcycles with an engine capacity of 150cc and below get a 100% tax excise duty exemption from 1st April – 31st December 2021! Here are the details!

Planning on buying a locally assembled motorcycle with an engine capacity of 150cc and below?  Well, folks here is the good news! Prime Minister, Tan Sir  Muhidyinn recently announced that locally-assembled (CKD/ Completely Knocked Down) motorcycles with an engine capacity of 150cc and below get a 100% tax excise duty exemption from 1st April 2021 – 31st December 2021!   The announcement of the tax exemption was made on the 17th of March 2021 together with the announcement of PMERKASA [Strategic Program to Empower the People and the Economy]. Besides the announcement, more in-depth details on the tax excise duty exemption haven’t been released yet.

 

With the 100% tax excise duty exemption the prices of 150cc and sub-150cc CKD motorcycles are expected to drop. So if you are looking to buy a locally assembled motorcycle with an engine capacity of 150cc and below, this might be a piece of good news for you.
