Prime Minister, Tan Sir Muhidyinn recently announced that locally-assembled (CKD/ Completely Knocked Down) motorcycles with an engine capacity of 150cc and below get a 100% tax excise duty exemption from 1st April 2021 – 31st December 2021! The announcement of the tax exemption was made on the 17th of March 2021 together with the announcement of PMERKASA [Strategic Program to Empower the People and the Economy]. Besides the announcement, more in-depth details on the tax excise duty exemption haven’t been released yet.
With the 100% tax excise duty exemption the prices of 150cc and sub-150cc CKD motorcycles are expected to drop.
