Update: Honda ADV 150 officially launched in Malaysia – Priced at RM 11,999 in Malaysia! Read the full article here.

A week ago Honda Motorcycle Malaysia posted a launch teaser post for an incoming model on their Facebook page. This online launch event is set to take place tomorrow, on the 5th of February 2021 at 8 pm.

We speculated the model that’s due for launch tomorrow is the much anticipated Honda ADV 150.  This is because the silhouette of the bike that’s featured on the launch poster looks a lot similar to the ADV 150. Apart from this, earlier rumours also suggested the model would be launched within February 2021 so think the model that will be launched tomorrow is the Honda ADV 150.

Previously we posted updates on the pre-booking availability and such. If you haven’t seen it, check it out here. One thing we weren’t sure of was the specification details because specifications of the ADV 150 is market-specific. Meaning, the specification of the bike depends on the country it’s being offered in.

However, the official Malaysian brochure for the Honda ADV 150 has just been leaked out online. Thanks to this, now we can lay out the specification details of the Honda ADV 150 that we have been missing out.

Note: Specifications mentioned here are based on the leaked brochure and iMotorbike does not guarantee the legitimacy of the leaked brochure.

2021 Honda ADV 150

Speaking of the bike, the Honda ADV 150 is a popular dual-sport motorcycle in many parts of the world. As mentioned earlier specifications vary with the market. In markets like Indonesia, the ADV 150 is offered in two variants; ABS (anti-lock braking system) and  CBS (Combi Brake System) variants.

Judging from the leaked brochure the Honda ADV 150 model that we would be getting in Malaysia appears to be the top of the range Honda ADV 150 ABS variant that’s offered in Indonesia.  When BSH brought in the Honda CBR250RR to Malaysia, we received the Indonesian equivalent of the high-spec Honda CBR250RR SP as the standard model. So, we are not surprised.

Honda ADV 150 Specifications based on the leaked brochure

Starting with the design, the ADV 150 follows the design of the bigger Honda X-ADV. Similar to its bigger sibling, the Honda ADV 150 comes equipped with full LED lighting with DRLs, LCD digital instrument panel, adjustable windshield and Honda Smart Key system.

More on the creature comfort side; the ADV 150 comes with a large 28-litre storage tank and a cockpit glovebox with an inbuilt 12v charging socket as well.

Built around a double-cradle frame, the Honda ADV 150 weighs 133kg dry. The Honda ADV 150 comes with a large 14-inch wheel with 110/80 tyre up front and a 13-inch wheel with wider 130/70 tyre at the rear. As for the fuel tank capacity, the ADV 150 rolls in with an 8-litre tank.

Suspension duties are taken care of by a 31mm Showa telescopic front fork and a set of Showa twin shocks at the rear. Braking is done via hydraulic disc brake at the front and rear with single-channel ABS.

The Honda ADV 150 is powered by a 149.3cc SOHC liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine which comes equipped with Honda’s PGM-Fi and eSP+. The 149.3 cc mill mated to a CVT and belt final drive; the ADV 150 puts out 14.6 hp @ 8,500 rpm and 13.9 Nm of peak torque @ 6,500 rpm.

Colour Options

In the case of the colour options, the brochure suggests the Honda ADV 150 would be offered in two colours; Viva City Red and  Mat Charcol Gray Metallic.

As mentioned earlier, the specifications are based on the leaked brochure. Therefore, we can’t guarantee much on the details provided. Let’s wait till tomorrow and see what BSH has in store for us!
