Alex Rins Biography

Alex Rins started off his career winning the CEV in 2011 before levelling up to the Moto3 World Championship in 2012, in which he claimed the Rookie of the Year accolade. In 2013, he was consistent with his performance and was in the run for the title but was ultimately beaten by compatriot Maverick Viñales. The Spaniard had a rough year in 2014 due to his injuries but things were much better in 2015, where he joined the Moto2 championship and gained the title Rookie of the year.

Rins challenged the title once again in 2016 and finished the season in third place with more wins and podiums. He moved up to MotoGP in 2017 with Team Suzuki Ecstar and claimed several top five results as a rookie. Rins continued to take five podiums in 2018 and this was a solid jump to the 2019 season where he claimed a maiden MotoGP victory at the Americas GP. He repeated the victory in Silverstone too. In 2020, Rins was triumphant in the Aragon GP as well as podium finishes in three other races. He finished the season 3rd overall as the title was won by teammate Joan Mir. Rins hopes to improve and deliver a stellar performance in 2021.
