After a long break filled with surgeries and recoveries, Marc Marquez has finally been discharged from the Hospital Ruber Internacional to continue recovery at home. Following the heavy crash at the 2020 Spanish Grand Prix, the hometown hero bid goodbye to his home turf with two consecutive surgeries. Marquez went through the first surgery to fix the broken bone on his right arm immediately after the crash. A few days later, he made his return to Jerez and underwent another surgery as the metal plate holding the bones were starting to break off.

After his recent surgery on Thursday, December 3, Honda confirmed he has now been discharged on Sunday, December 13.

“Marc Marquez’s progress after the surgery performed on December 3 and the start of antibiotic therapy has been deemed satisfactory by his medical team,” according to a statement from Repsol Honda. “Today he has been discharged from the Hospital Ruber Internacional to continue his recovery at home, where he will continue with the specific antibiotic treatment.”

Marquez will be spending his time recuperating back in his home. There are speculations as to whether Marquez will be preparing for the 2021 season, Honda has decided to play it down. The important goal here is to make sure the Spaniard regains his full form.
