Earlier in August, Triumph Motorcycles presented the Triumph Trident design prototype at the London Design Museum and announced that the model would enter production soon.

As reported earlier, Triumph officially unveiled the much anticipated 2021 Triumph Trident 660 on the 30th of October 2020. Here is everything you need to know about the all-new 2021 Triumph Trident 660.

2021 Triumph Trident 660 Specs

Design

The new 2021 Triumph Trident 660 follows modern Triumph roaster style and character. Following Triumph’s iconic design DNA from the clean lines to the minimalist overall stance, the new Trident 660 brings more than just a hint of Triumph’s Speed Triple muscular poise.

Starting from the front, the new Trident 660 features a 7-inch LED headlamp and a 14L fuel tank with Triumph’s signature knee cut-outs.

To go hand in hand with the clean design, the Trident 660 also features a minimalist circular TFT colour instrument cluster upfront.

Moving on, the narrow tail section and the blacked-out five-spoke aluminium wheels at the front and rear add a sense of aggressiveness to the midweight roadster.

Engine

Starting with the powertrain, Trident 660 is powered by a 660cc liquid-cooled, 12 valve, DOHC, inline 3-cylinder engine. Mated to a 6-speed gearbox, the Trident 660 pushes 80 bhp (60 kW) @ 10,250 rpm & 64 Nm (47 lb-ft) @ 6,250 rpm. Speaking of the 6-speed gearbox, the Trident comes with slip and assist clutch as standard. Aside from this, Triumph also offers shift assist up & down quick-shifter as an optional accessory for clutchless shift ups & downs.

Class-leading service interval: With the new engine, the Trident 660 comes with a service interval of 10,000 miles / 16,000 km. This is between 20%-65% higher than its competitors in the market.

Chassis and Suspension

The Trident 660 features an all-new lightweight narrow tubular steel frame and comes with a low seat height of 805mm. Triumph says the new frame has been designed and set-up with rider comfort and handling in mind.

As for the suspension, Showa 41mm upside down separate function forks (SFF) upfront and Showa mono-shock RSU, with adjustable preload at the rear take care suspension duties. With front-wheel and rear-wheel travel of 120mm and 133.5 mm respectively, Triumph has set-up the Trident to handle top-notch even with the pillion rider.

Brake

Braking duties are done via Nissin two-piston sliding callipers with twin 310mm discs up front and  Nissin single-piston sliding calliper with 255mm disc at the rear.

Electronics

In the case of the electronic package; the Trident 660 comes with adjustable traction control, 2 riding modes, Dual channel ABS and ride-by-wire throttle as standard. Speaking of the riding modes; the Road and Rain modes work by adjusting both the traction control and throttle map to enhance control and safety.

Colour options and accessory kits
