2021 BMW G310R Launched – Gets design and tech updates for 2021!

BMW Motorrad presents the new 2021 BMW G310R. For 2021, the BMW G310R gets design and engine updates!

Introduced in 2015, BMW Motorrad developed the naked G310 R and G310 GS adventure in collaboration with TVS Motors of India.  The BMW G 310 R, in particular, has been one of the popular bikes among BMW Motorrad fans who are new to the world of two wheels. The G310 range is one of the top 5 best selling BMW motorcycles in the world. For 2021, BMW Motorrad updates the G 310 R as a way of going forward and to make it fit for the future.

In fact, the updated BMW G310R and G310 GS were launched in India a month earlier with India’s BS-VI standards and local specification. However, this specific launch is technically for the markets outside of India.

2021 BMW G310R Specification

In the case of the design, the new BMW G310 R’s farings get slight updates. BMW Motorrad has also updated the colour scheme of the roadster. For 2021, the engine housing covers, footrest plate and the rear grab handle are now painted in Titanium Grey metallic.

As spied earlier a few months back, the new BMW G 310 R gets full-LED headlight with C-shaped DRLs as well as LED turn signals. The BMW G 310 R comes with three lighting functions; high beam, low beam and daytime running. However, the 3rd day time running function will only be available in certain countries.

Aside from this, the 2021 G310R gets adjustable clutch and handbrake levers. The levers can now be adjusted in four stages, hence it provides ergonomic benefits especially to riders with small hands.

The 2021 BMW G310R comes in two basic colour options: Cosmic Black and Polar White. BMW Motorrad also offers an exclusive ” Sport” styling package”. This package gets red graphics, red frame and wheels.

In the case of the engine, the 2021 G310R still features the same 313cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder. However, for 2021, the new G310R’s engine gets a few tweaks in certain areas. The most important one is Euro 5 homologation. Aside from this, the engine is now equipped with idle boosting as well as an electronic throttle grip which offers an even more sensitive throttle response.

The new G310R also gets self-boosting anti-hopping clutch. This reduces engine drag torque thus enhances safety when downshifting and significantly reduces operating forces at the clutch lever.

2021 BMW G 310 R features at a glance:

  • Single-cylinder engine according to EU-5 homologation with electromotive throttle controller and automatic idle speed increase.
  • Self-boosting anti-hopping clutch.
  • New LED headlight and LED flashing turn indicators.
  • Hand lever adjustable in four stages for brake and clutch.
  • Engine housing covers for the alternator, clutch and coolant pump, as well as footrest plate and rear grab handle, painted in Titanium Grey Metallic.
  • Softly reimagined design with two attractive base colours and the exclusive style option “Sport” with red as accent colour.
