The incoming Yamaha Y15ZR V3 has been spotted testing again in Malaysia! This latest leak confirms the arrival of the next-gen Y15ZR V3 with major updates to Malaysia!

Yamaha Y15ZR V3 Spotted in Malaysia

Folks, it’s here again! The upcoming Yamaha Y15ZR V3 has been spotted again in Malaysia. Yes, that’s right, it was spotted in Malaysia! A few days back we came across a set of leaked pictures of the Yamaha Y15ZR V3. However, the pictures weren’t clear and the sources didn’t clearly state the location where the bike was spotted.

Earlier Yamaha Y15ZR V3 Spy Shot

However, thanks to the latest leak, we now have a more detailed picture of the upcoming Yamaha Y15ZR V3. The latest spy shot covers two units of Yamaha Y15ZR V3 undergroing through road tests again. The bikes were spotted locally in Selayang, Selangor, Malaysia.

The Latest Yamaha Y15ZR V3 Spy Shot (Malaysia)

It is now clear HLYM is working on an updated Yamaha Y15ZR V3 that we have been talking of for quite some time now. Aside from this, looking at the bikes in the latest spy shot, both the Y15ZR test units look similar to the Exciter RC unit that was spotted earlier in May.

This could mean only one thing folks, the upcoming V3 wouldn’t get just a “regular” update. From the looks of it, the next-gen Y15ZR V3 would receive one of the biggest updates yet. In case you missed our prediction on the specifications of the upcoming Yamaha Y15ZR V3, let’s have a quick run-through.

Yamaha Y15ZR VVA V3, Yamaha Exciter RC 155 VVA, Yamaha MX King VVA V3 Specification [Speculation based on the leaks]

To start off with the design, it looks like 70-80% of the bodywork would revised and updated to make the bike look more sleeker and sportier.

Aside from this, the Yamaha Y15ZR V3 would feature an all-new LED headlamp and taillight. -Yep, looks like it wouldn’t come with the same old R25 taillights. Other design updates would include updated mudguards, grab bars and seats.

The Y15ZR V3 would receive an updated electronic package consisting of keyless ignition and an all-new instrument cluster specific to the Y15ZR.

Moving on to the engine, the Y15ZR V3 would come equipped with Yamaha’s 155cc VVA engine. Mated to a 6-speed gearbox, we can expect the V3 to push around 19 hp (roughly 3 hp more than the current YZ15R). (Speculation made based on R15’s VVA engine)

Aside from this, thanks to the latest leak, we now have some details on the brakes. It looks like a 2 piston calliper at the front would replace the single-piston calliper from the current Y15ZR V2.

Yamaha Y15ZE V3 Launch

It’s obviously the incoming Yamaha Y15ZR V3 would get the biggest update in terms of both tech and design. Sadly we have no information on the launch yet, however, given the V3 is currently undergoing through road tests, we think HLYM would pull the cover off the next-gen Yamaha Y15ZR V3 by 2021.

Tell us your thoughts on the Yamaha Y15 VVA V3 and its launch! 2020 Yamaha Y15ZR V3 or 2021 Yamaha Y15ZR V3?
