Aston Martin and Brough Superior Are Currently Testing the AMB 001!

Aston Martin and Brough Superior Are Currently Testing the AMB 001!

The track-only AMB 001 by Aston Martin and Brough Superior is currently going through dynamic testing at Pau-Arnos circuit in France.

AMB 001 by Aston Martin and Brough Superior

On 5th November 2019, Aston Martin showed off their first-ever motorcycle, the AMB 001. The AMB 001 showcased at ECIMA 2019 motorcycle show is a collaborative project between Aston Martin and the British Motorcycle brand, Brough Superior.

Limited to just 100 units worldwide, this track-only bike is currently undergoing thorough testing. In Aston Martin’s recent teaser video on Youtube; the bike is apparently going through dynamic testing, which means the bike is really close to the launch! Yes, it just doesn’t look good, it actually performs as it looks!

AMB 001 Specs

To begin with, the AMB 001 features a Turbocharged DOHC 997cc 8-Valve 88-degree V-twin (Water and Oil cooled) engine. Mated to a 6-speed gearbox and chain final drive, the bike puts out a whopping 180bhp!

As for the body parts, the AMB 001 comes with a list of carbon fibre body parts. Aside from this, thanks to other lightweight structural body parts and the use of aerospace material, the bike weighs just 180 kg; which leads to a power-to-weight ratio of 1hp per kilogram!

In the case of the chassis, the turbocharged V-Twin engine sits on a light CNC machined backbone. Furthermore, the carbon fibre rear frame with titanium chassis components completes the high-tech chassis.  As for the suspension and brakes; Aston says the AMB 001’s billet double-wishbone Fior fork and brake system developed by racing brake specialist ensures safety and top-notch handling.

On top of this, the AMB 001 gets the same luxury treatment Aston Martin cars get; from the high-quality leather seats to the handcrafted handgrips and laser-cut Auston logo; the bike is a great example of hand-crafted perfection.

Oh, also check out this Inferno Red AMB 001 marked 002/100! Looks sweet, huh?

Price and Launch

As for the price, the track-only AMB 001 is actually the cheapest brand-new Aston Martin you can get with a price tag of just 108,000 Euros or MYR 530,800! The bike is set to compete with bikes like the Kawasaki Ninja H2R and Ducati V4 Superleggera. We believe Aston Martin would launch this bike later this year and given it’s a limited run model, we think, the bike would sell out in a matter of minutes.
