It now comes with new 50-series helmet comm devices Sena 50S and Sena 50R.
Sena has extended the capabilities of its motorcycle Bluetooth headsets with a pair of new 50-series helmet comms devices. These include mesh networking, fast charging, automatic updates and louder, bassier speakers than the 30K. The Sena 50S and Sena 50R consist of the same hardware with slightly different interfaces and battery sizes.
According to New Atlas, both of the devices can be clipped on using the Sena clamp mount system or a sticker mount. Both of them also come with the same new speaker and microphone options. The main difference between the two is the controls and the battery size. The S version gives riders a jog dial and the R features a three-button interface. The R version has about an hour less Bluetooth talk time than the S version which comes with 14 hours.
Using Bluetooth 5.0, both versions handle regular phone functions, music and GPS system integration. This includes multi-language voice commands. The new design of the speakers feels better on the ear physically as the lower profile provides more comfort for a long day on the road. It includes higher volumes, more bass and improved clarity and better response.
Charging is also 30 per cent faster now as it takes only one hour. By connecting to the Wi-Fi, this can allow for automatic download of updates to apply to the headsets. The Sena 50S and Sena 50R retail for US$339 (RM1714.90) apiece or $599 (RM2,514.50) for a twin set.
