The Aprilia Tuono 660 Concept was unveiled at EICMA last year together with the RS660 sportbike. Here are some details of the production Aprilia Tuono 660!
Aprilia unveiled the naked Aprilia Tuono 660 concept last yeat at EICMA 2019. These two mid-weight bikes are something that most of us are looking forward to seeing. VisorDown recently reported a few things that the naked production Aprilia Tuono 660 could roll out with, and here they are.
Reports claim that the Aprilia Tuono 660 would feature an engine which is detuned by only a few BHP; compared to the fully-faired RS660. The naked Tuono 660 is speculated to produce around 95hp, compared to the RS660’s 100hp. The details on the power figures seem feasible since Aprilia announced that the RS660 A2 version with similar 95hp.
Aside from this, sources also report that the Aprilia Tuono 660 would use the same chassis and running gear close to the sports bike it is drawn from. Meaning, the Tuono 660 would share the same; suspension, frame, brakes and swingarm from the RS660. On top of this, the naked Tuono would share the same top fairing as the RS660 or the bigger RSV4.
With the reports on the power output, VisorDown also speculates that the Tuono 660 would potentially come with same levels of electronics and modes as the RS660.
The Aprilia RS660 comes with; cornering ABS, wheelie control, up and down quick-shifter, traction control, engine braking control, three road riding modes, two-track riding modes and cruise control. If the Tuono 660 was to feature all this, it would definitely be one of the most advanced midsized naked motorcycles in the market!
Launch and price
The launch of the Aprilia RS660 was supposed to take place during Aprilia All Stars 2020 on May 9th. However, due to ongoing COVID-19 outbreak, the event was postponed. As for the Tuono 660, if things go according to plan, we can expect to see it by this year. Also, no pricing for this bike has been officially announced yet. In the case of Malaysia, given the RS660 is coming here, Tuono 660 would most likely hit our shores too!
