Test rider Dani Pedrosa stays on top of the Sepang MotoGP shakedown timesheet as of Day 2. Jorge Lorenzo, newly announced test rider for Yamaha, showed up at the track in Yamaha colours.
Update as of Day 3: Pol Espargaro wraps up the shakedown test with 1m 59.444s and Lorenzo starts testing Yamaha’s bike on the 3rd day.
MotoGP Sepang shakedown tests are currently ongoing at Sepang International Circuit. The official test is set to take place from the 7th to 9th February.
Sepang Shakedown Results as of Day 2
Dani Pedrosa and Red Bull KTM Factory team top the timesheet for two consecutive days. During the 50 laps at the shakedown tests, Dani managed to bump up his time from 2m 0.625s (From Sunday) to 1m 59.841s (From Monday).
KTM is running five bikes during these tests in both Factory and the satellite Tech 3 teams. KTM factory again tops the timesheet with Pol Espargaro on second place with 1m 59.972s lap time.
Just after Pol Espargaro, Alex Marquez from Honda Repsol team tops the chart at 2m 00.270s by cutting off nearly a second from Sunday results. After the second day, Alex would be going to Jakarta for the team launch on Tuesday.
KTM Tech 3 team’s Miguel Oliveria proceeds at 4th place after returning from his shoulder surgery. Michele Pirro from Ducati topped at 5th, followed by Honda’s Stefan Bradl on 6th. Rookie Brad Binder from KTM factory comes 7th followed by Suzuki test rider Sylvain Guintoli and Aprilia test rider Bradley Smith on 9th. Again, KTM’s Tech 3 Iker Lecuona on 11th place followed by Yamaha’s anonymously designated Japanese test riders 1 and 3. While Aprilia’s Lorenzo Savadori in 14th place and Yamaha Test rider two on 15th place.

Jorge Lorenzo as Yamaha’s Test Rider
On the 2nd day, triple MotoGP champion, Jorge Lorenzo made an appearance at the track. Lorenzo, the newly announced test rider for Yamaha, showed up at the track in Yamaha colours. However, he will be starting the test starting from today, 4th February.
Update as of Day 3 :
Lorenzo tests Yamaha’s bike on the last day of the 3 days shakedown test. According to sources, Jorge Lorenzo’s best time is 2m 00.506 s as of day 3.
