A Ducati Streetfighter V2 is on the way!

A Ducati Streetfighter V2 is on the way!

Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali says that the Italian manufacturer will reveal a Streetfighter V2 soon.

Ducati Streetfighter V2

Claudio Domenicali, the Ducati CEO, has shown that when he has an idea, he takes it to the end. We’ve seen that happen with the Streetfighter V4. Fans and journalist asked Domenicali about a naked Panigale V4.

He answered the questions by saying that “if that’s what you want, then Ducati will build it!”.

A few months after saying that, we saw the Streetfighter V4 prototype testing at Pikes Peak. And then, the Italian manufacturer presented the production version of the naked bike during the EICMA Milan Motorcycle Show.

Now, and just a little over a month after revealing the Streetfighter V4, Claudio Domenicali gave an interview to British magazine MotorcycleNews. And once again, the Ducati CEO didn’t hold back on the answers!

The biggest information revealed by Claudio Domenicali is that a Ducati Streetfighter V2 is on the way.

Domenicali says he’s really happy with the work done on the Panigale V2 that replaces the old 959. On one side this sportbike retains the sports characteristics of the Panigale V4 but isn’t so aggressive due to its 155 hp V2 engine.

The strategy is to use the Panigale V2 platform and use it to create the new Ducati Streetfighter V2. Without fairings and with a high handlebar, we expect the new model to resemble the Streetfighter V4 appearance.

Certainly, the aero package of the V4 variant won’t be used on the Ducati Streetfighter V2. But taking into account that Ducati is really loving the use of wings on its bikes, the Streetfighter V2 will get some kind of aerodynamic wings.

With the same design of the Streetfighter V4 and a friendly engine of the Panigale V2, the Ducati Streetfighter V2 is shaping up to be one of the best sport naked bikes to be available by 2021.

With more than ten years as a motorcycle journalist, i enjoy everything that has to do with two-wheels. I'm a fan of sport bikes and i prefer riding them on a racetrack, but give me a road filled with corners and good asphalt and i'll be there to have some fun!
